About the teacher training centre

IH Cairo is a well established school, staffed by experienced professionals. The team has been teaching languages for 14 years.

In 2020 we moved to our new location in the Giza area of Cairo, in a downtown location near the left bank of the Nile River. We are in an area where there are Embassies and Consulates, near the Egyptian museum, the Opera House, Cairo Tower, and just 9 minutes walking from the nearest metro station.

We offer English Language and Arabic language courses as well as a range of teacher training opportunities from CELTA to DELTA and other specialist courses.

What is DELTA Module 1?

DELTA (Diploma in teaching English to speakers of other languages) covers advanced theory and practice to help you develop in your teaching career. You need at least one year’s experience to make the most of it.

There are three modules, which you can take in any order.

DELTA Module 1 is “Understanding Language, Methodology and Resources for Teaching”. This is the examined module, and is primarily theoretical. Topics are

Theory of language acquisition and language teaching
Different teaching approaches and methodologies
Language systems and linguistic problems
Language skills
Resources, materials and reference sources for language learning
Assessment concepts and terminology

DELTA Module1 with IH Cairo

Face-to-face courses are from Sunday to Thursday

Online courses are Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Cairo time

Part-time courses run on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Cairo time

Laura has been an EFL teacher for thirty-four years and a teacher trainer for nearly thirty years. First and foremost, she wants to help students to develop themselves as teachers and give them the skills to building genuine rapport between themselves and their students.

Radwa Younis

Radwa has been an EFL teacher for 13 years and a teacher trainer for 7 years. She is concerned about the mental well-being of her trainees. She encourages them to work very hard, but don’t get to the edge of burnout.
