Exciting opportunity to be Overseas Programme Manager – International House London Young Learners

If you’re enthusiastic, passionate, and ready to inspire young learners, we are excited to invite you to join our team at International House London, for the upcoming Young Learner summer season!

What we’re looking for

We’re searching for an Overseas Programme Manager to set up and deliver a new summer school in Japan, developing International House London’s partnership with a prestigious boarding school in Japan. The position requires a part-time working schedule from February to June and full-time on-site in Japan for the duration of the camp.

To apply, you must have:

  • GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Proven managerial experience in similar roles
  • English proficiency level of C1+
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of managing different stakeholders and prioritising according to safeguarding and organisational reputation
  • A positive, flexible, “can-do” attitude
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and laws/regulations
  • Ability to lead a large team and make principled decisions under pressure

What the Job Is About

As the Overseas Programme Manager you will have both pre- and in-camp oversight of the summer school operation in Japan. Pre-camp, this will focus on project management, recruitment and compliance of both UK and Japanese regulations, plus extensive stakeholder liaison. In-camp, you will manage the centre, ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for students, staff, agents and host centre. You will work closely with Head Office at all stages.

Contract details
Pre-camp (February-June):

  • 14 hours per week
  • Part-time, flexible
  • possibility to work remotely
  • Site visit to Japan may be required

In-camp

  • 40-48 hours per week
  • Evening and weekend work expected as part of the residential schedule
  • Free accommodation
  • Three meals a day + free tea and coffee
