IH Online Teacher Training Institute

We’re recruiting online teacher trainers to join our tutoring team.

International House World Organisation (IHWO) delivers tutored asynchronous teacher development courses to teachers worldwide through our online platform. We offer courses in all areas of ELT from VYL through to advanced programmes in academic management and teacher training. Courses run year-round, with main start dates in October, February, and May.

As an online tutor, you can expect to work between 7–15 hours per week, depending on the course type and participant numbers. Alongside online engagement, tutors are responsible for marking weekly written tasks. We aim to allocate each tutor at least one course per academic year.

We are specifically seeking experienced teacher trainers, as opposed to teachers, who meet the following criteria:

Required:

  • Online teacher training qualification from a recognised body.
  • Teacher development experience specifically with language teachers.

Preferred (but not essential)

  • Have experience of asynchronous online course delivery.
  • Knowledge of the IHWO suite of courses.

Desirable

  • The ability to work flexibly (the workload can vary from course to course) and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to log onto the course site daily.
  • Hold a higher level teaching qualification.

How to apply

Please complete the application form found at the link below by Saturday 20th September

Successful applicants will be notified after the application closing date. They will be expected to then do selection tasks, take part in an online meeting and shadow courses as part of the final selection procedure. Successful applicants will be added to the pool of tutors.

About the school and city

The IH Online Teacher Training Institute (OTTI) is fully online, so working for us means working in your own city!

We are the teacher training wing of International House World Organisation. We provide online professional development courses for EFL teachers around the world. We have courses for every stage of a teacher’s career, from soon after their initial qualification to DELTA level and management courses.

The courses are predominately asynchronous teacher training courses for teachers all over the world. The start times for most courses are October, February and May.

An online tutor can work anywhere between 7 and 15 hours a week depending on the course type and the number of participants on the course. We aim to give all tutors in our team at least one course per academic year.
