IH Palermo London School are looking for a proactive EFL teacher with enthusiasm for teaching young learners. The position would suit a team player that is flexible, independent, keen on professional development and sharing ideas. The teaching timetable is varied, ranging from very young and young learners to adults, from general English to exam classes, on-site as well as off-site courses.
As some teaching takes place online, all our classrooms are equipped with a laptop and a projector and as registers and reports are completed on-line, good computer skills are essential. The school is small, we usually have about 5 full time teachers, which enables the DoS to provide the teachers with plenty of individual attention and a tailor- made professional development programme.
An average of 18 teaching hours per five-day week. If a teacher teaches less than 18 hours in one week, they will be expected to make up the teaching hours at a later date. If necessary, the teacher can be expected to teach up to 25 hours a week. They are expected to teach split shifts. Our working hours are between 8am and 9pm, Saturdays from 8.30am to 6.00pm.
Four hours of meetings/seminars are held every month. Meetings and seminars are paid at admin rate.
Flights: 150,00 Euro - the equivalent of a low cost return flight London - Palermo will be paid at the end of the contract.
Accommodation: The school doesn’t provide free accommodation but helps the teachers to find suitable rented accommodation.
Holiday: 21/2 days holiday paid per month worked. Leaving bonus approx a third of a month’s salary. “Tredicesima” = approx 1/12 for every month worked. For teachers staying more than 3 years and working full time, there is also an extra bonus of €500 at the end of each school year. Travelling time for off -site work is paid.
