Essential Requirements 

  • You must have a CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent initial teaching qualification
  • The role is open only to those with the right to work in the EU.
  • You must have full mastery of English across all 4 skills to CEFR C2/IELTS band 8
  • You must be an enthusiastic English teacher who enjoys what they do and cares about student progress

What we’re looking for

  • CELTA or equivalent qualification
  • Confidence teaching all levels of English
  • Experience with exam preparation, Young Learners and English for Specific Purposes is a plus
  • Comfortable with online or hybrid teaching
  • Preferably one year of ELT experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver English language lessons tailored to students' needs and aligned with curriculum guidelines.
  • Monitor, assess, and document student performance and progress regularly, using both formative and summative assessment practices in line with required standards and criteria.
  • Participate in curriculum design, resource development, and continuous school improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and student progress in compliance with requirements.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, CPD training sessions, peer observations, and professional development activities as required.
  • Support student welfare, safeguarding, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow academic policies and procedures, including those required for ELT Council compliance, Eaquals and IHWO inspection standards.

Administrative Duties:

  • Complete student reports, progress reports, progress testing, assessment and feedback forms as required.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff on scheduling, lesson planning, and academic matters.
  • Contribute to internal and external quality assurance processes.

Located in one of the most cosmopolitan areas in Malta, Swieqi, St Julian’s, International House Malta is busy all year round, offering a variety of courses ranging from a more laid-back ‘General English Lite’ to specialised intensive language courses for business and corporate clients. We also run a high-quality Young Learners’ Summer programme every year from June to August at our annexe within the Paradise Bay Resort Hotel in the north of the island where we also offer classes or private tuition on request at any time of the year.

Our Young Learners’ Summer Programme combines a serious academic programme with a varied leisure activities programme in an exclusive hotel resort right at the northernmost tip of the island.
