Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified Academic Manager / Director of Studies to lead our schools in Budapest. Main place of work is on the Buda side (Retek Street) but the role-holder will be required to work from other venues and our teacher training centre in Budapest, like our Pest site (Váci Street). Level of employment is dependent on experience and qualifications.
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Maintaining our high teacher and teaching standards and supporting teachers in their development
- Effective communication and building bridges between teachers, managements, clients and other stakeholders
- Placement testing new students, student allocation and timetabling and tracking during their studies
- Recruitment of new teachers, inductions, observations, and staff development
- Leading on online and offline material creation, coordination of production, testing and tracking
- Leading, coordination, and management of the teaching staff
- Maintaining and improving quality standards and leading on accreditations
- Course organisation and timetabling on all our teaching courses and room and teacher allocation
- Other ad-hoc delegated tasks, related to teaching or running of the school

Essential:
- Pedagogical and/or andragogical qualifications and relevant experience in previous roles
- Already existing legal rights to work in the EU and Hungary in a full-time role
Desirable:
- Cambridge DELTA / Trinity Diploma in TESOL or similar (or in progress and/or willing to undertake)
- Experience in management and/or teacher training, and materials/learning design
