IH Bristol

Bristol, UK

International House Bristol is a leading language school located in the vibrant city of Bristol, one of the best places to live in the UK. We are dedicated to providing high-quality English language courses to students from around the world. Established in 1987, the school has a rich history and a commitment to excellence. We are the largest family-owned and operated school in Bristol as well as being a CELTA training centre and an exam centre for Cambridge, IELTS and OET. IH Bristol has been affiliated to International House World Organisation since 2009 and has been named in the top 10% of language schools in the UK by EL Gazette.

The school has two buildings, both in Clifton, the university quarter. We offer a range of courses from junior summer and winter programmes to exam courses, one-to-one, 45 years+ courses, and teacher training. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere; IH Bristol aims to give back to the community: we have taught many refugee classes in Bristol and have been involved in development projects in Cuba, Angola and Vietnam.

Life in and Around Bristol

So why Bristol? The short answer is it's the best place to live in the world! It offers art, music (classical, folk, indie, drum and bass, blues, jazz and others), food, hot air ballooning, skateboarding, Banksy and graffiti, great engineering, Latin and ballroom dancing, wildlife filming and conservation work, sailing ships, theatre (The Old Vic is England's oldest working theatre), film... we could go on!

Despite being an exciting city, with a young population (two major universities), Bristol allows easy access to the surrounding countryside, the whole of the South West of England, and even Wales! Green space abounds in the city itself, and whether you're into running, cycling or watersports, or even more a spectator than a participant, there are endless opportunities to indulge your passions.
