IH Belgrade

Belgrade, Serbia.

We want all students to be confident booking a course at IH Belgrade amid the current Covid-19 restrictions.

We are currently running CELTAs fully online - you'll be in a virutal classroom with your classmates in real time - it's not like taking a self study online programme. You'll even have online teaching practice - developing really useful skills at the moment that are not usually on the CELTA!

If you'd prefer to wait and attend the normal face to face course that is great - we look forward to welcoming you later in the year.

IH Belgrade is the only University of Cambridge accredited centre for CELTA teacher training in Serbia. It's rare to find a centre which offers so much individual support for every trainee.

IH Belgrade opened in 1991 and we have had nearly 30 years of experience in language teaching and teacher training. We specialise in teacher training, English for specific purposes language training and translating.

During nearly 30 years of our operations, more than 6000 students have learned a foreign language and many of them enrolled universities all around the world or have been promoted thanks to their excellent results in international language tests. We continue to implement the latest developments in language teaching and learning in our work.

IH Belgrade is located in the very centre of Belgrade, in a vibrant area called Vracar, close to all transport connections and walking distance from the theatres, famous Belgrade restaurants and sights.

Life in and around Belgrade

Visiting and studying in Serbia is a true experience. Other than doing your CELTA course in one of Europe’s upcoming capital cities, you’ll get to experience a new country in the heart of Europe. Nature lovers will love Serbia’s lakes, rivers, mountains  and reserves and for those who appreciate culture, there are a number of annual cultural events in Serbia that are worth checking out such as the Beer Fest, the trumpet festival, and the Pancevo Carnival to name a few. Serbia’s other cities also have a lot to offer, so make sure you give yourself a few days or even weeks to explore the rest of this intriguing country.

If you have a free day you can go on one day tour of the Golubac Fortress, Novi Sad, Oplenac winery, Subotica, the Palic lake and many more places. Or you can enjoy a free walking  tour in the city to visit the Kalemegdan Fortress, Knez Mihajlova street, The St Sava Temple, and other churches and museums.

The Exit Festival in Novi Sad is one of the top music festivals in the world and world famous musicians perform there.

Nightlife in Belgrade is something you will never forget. Music festivals, clubs, theatres, and much more!

“We had a most enjoyable 10 day stay in March. Serbians are so hospitable, friendly and the country is so beautiful. You have everything here - old churches, fortresses, beautiful city centers, museums, monasteries, mountains. so much more! Our only regret is there is so little time and so much to see! Many thanks to all the hotel, restaurant, taxis, buses and all other folks we encountered on daily basis who made our stay comfortable and safe.” Ganesh
