Essential requirements:

  • You must have a CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent initial teaching qualification.
  • YL and VYL experience preferred with a desire to develop professionally.

Job description: 

IH Sofia is looking for people who want to develop professionally. You can choose a 20 or 25 teaching-hours a week contract, take OTTI qualifications such as IHCYLT, IH CAM and DELTA – with up to 50% of the fee paid by us, receive ongoing support in class and attend regular in-service training. We’re also keen to offer opportunities for promotion.

Teach a variety of courses; face-to-face and online, Adults, Business, VYLs, YLs and Teens, 121, Exam Prep, where course books, syllabi and materials are provided, and admin kept to a minimum. If you’re particularly interested in designing a course, we run unusual courses which you can find on our website. We’re looking for teachers who can be self-sufficient, creative with a can-do attitude as you'll find your students engaging, curious and keen to learn.

For those who love the outdoors, skiing and hiking are only 20 minutes from the Centre and mountain ranges and beaches within a couple of hours. If you'd like to go further afield then we border Greece, Turkey, Romania and Serbia. Highly recommended are trips to Istanbul and Dracula's castle.

Flights: Euros 100 towards the ticket.

Accommodation: Help finding accommodation (in the centre) but not included in salary. Rents in Sofia are around 350 Euros per month.

Visa: Support applying for necessary visas.

Holiday: Unpaid holidays to be discussed at interview.
