Job Description

We are a long established and successful bi-lingual kindergarten for 130 happy and eager to learn 3-6-year-olds, based in Bielsko-Biala’s city center and located amidst the backdrop of a beautiful mountainous region.

We are now looking for a qualified EFL teacher to teach two groups of 6-year-olds, for 4 – 6 hours of English communication daily through interesting and fun subjects or activities such as, art, outdoor play, breakfast, morning greeting time, story time, music and dance; having the same children daily will allow you to build strong and special bonds with each of them and make your day-to-day teaching experiences memorable and extremely satisfying.

All our English teachers work side-by-side with English speaking Polish teachers and assistants so they always have a translator and help nearby.

Teachers take part in many programs and activities, for example, Forest Adventure (trips to the forest), Jolly phonics, extra curriculum activities, healthy eating choices, special shows, culture days, trips to the city's theatres, museums and community services i.e. Police or Fire Station, day trips to plant nurseries, fun parks etc., walks, family fun days, Christmas and Easter events, just to name a few.

The quality of education a child receives is determined by the quality of the teacher so we are dedicated to you! We will support you in all means possible. Some examples of these are, regular meetings, training sessions, an orientation and induction week (prior to starting work), peer knowledge sharing and observations, teaching guides, quality resources such as topic folders full of 1000s of colourful and laminated flashcards, a library of storybooks, music, art supplies, sporting equipment, toys, laptops, interactive whiteboards and office equipment, just to name a few.

Other requirements

Flights: Flight or travel assistance to help with relocation: 400 PLN for teachers traveling from Europe / 800 PLN for those traveling from other continents.

Accommodation: The school assists in finding accommodation.

 

About the school and city

International House Bielsko was established in 1993 and has a very solid reputation in the local community. Since 2014 the school has been running a Bilingual Primary School “Primary Steps,” with approx. 200 children between 7 and 14 years old.

Alongside the Polish curriculum, the school provides intensive English classes for all children. We also run a very successful STEM program, which teaches integrated Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through the medium of English. In addition, the school’s Forest School program provides opportunities for children in years 1-3 to further develop their English skills through outdoor activities in a local woodland setting. We are dedicated to the learning of both our children and teaching staff, and we offer training sessions and support in all areas of teaching. Training sessions and teacher meetings are part of the contract. We offer a wide choice of teaching guides, resources, aids and materials.

The school is located in Bielsko-Biala, in the south of Poland near modern ski areas in the beautiful Beskidy mountains. The location is ideal for teachers who are interested in skiing, snowboarding, hiking, sailing and horse riding, as well as those who wish to travel around Europe as there are connections to Prague, Berlin, Budapest to name just a few.

Bielsko–Biala offers a low cost of living, friendly people and the opportunity to experience real Polish life. There are also all of the amenities you would expect (gyms, cinemas, restaurants, bars, jazz clubs, swimming pools, bowling and go-karting centre, tennis courts, ropes courses, shopping centres & supermarkets (including Tesco), etc. Krakow is around 1,5 hours away and Warsaw is around 4 hours away.

About the school and city

Nowadays, IH Bielsko-Biala has about 550 students, aged from 4 to over 60, although most are under 16. We also have tailor-made courses for small groups and individuals both in school and in-company.
