About the teacher training centre

IH Cordoba, known locally as “Academia Britanica”, was the first IH to be founded by John and Brita Haycraft in 1953.

Since that time the school has continued to grow and we now have two locations.

The CENTRO school is in the old town in two modernized Andalusian houses. The school has 22 classrooms, a staffroom, a computer room and an open-plan study centre. The building is fully air-conditioned, with central heating, WIFI and all classrooms have computers and interactive whiteboards.

The SIERRA school is in a residential area, with modern facilities. We invest in the decoration and facilities, to make the classrooms and teachers rooms comfortable and well equipped.  Visitors say the premises are a pleasure in which to work and to study.

We have a large team of academic managers and support staff, always on hand to help you.

International House Córdoba is located in the heart of one of Spain’s most beautiful and historic cities. Just a few minutes’ walk from Córdoba’s iconic landmarks, our centre combines the charm of a traditional Andalusian setting with modern classrooms, interactive technology, and dedicated teacher training facilities.

Founded in 1953, we are one of the oldest International House schools in the world and a leading Cambridge centre in southern Spain. Here, CELTA trainees enjoy a supportive and friendly atmosphere while training in a city famous for its sunshine, culture, gastronomy, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

What makes our centre truly special is our team. We have our own CELTA and DELTA-qualified tutors on site, as well as a teaching staff who have completed the CELTA themselves. This means that throughout your course you'll be surrounded by experienced professionals who understand exactly what you're going through and can offer practical advice, support and guidance whenever you need it.

Studying in Córdoba means enjoying a relaxed, walkable city with a lower cost of living than many other European destinations, while benefiting from the professional opportunities and global network that International House offers.

Whether you're starting your teaching career or looking for an internationally recognised qualification, International House Córdoba is the perfect place to learn, grow and become part of a community of passionate language teachers.
